The Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Barrett’s Oesophagus and Early Oesophageal Adenocarcinoma

The PROBE-NET Investigators and collaborators have been a driving force behind The Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Barrett’s Oesophagus and Early Oesophageal Adenocarcinoma. These guidelines, recently released by the Cancer Council Australia, provide evidence-based recommendations on the management of Barrett’s Oesophagus and early adenocarcinoma of the oesophagus. The guidelines have been prepared by the Barrett’s Oesophagus Guidelines Working Party chaired by Professor David Whiteman and convened by the Cancer Council Australia. They are available online.

 

Queensland Institute of Medical Research epidemiologist David Whiteman granted $2.4 million to research oesophageal cancer

QUEENSLAND researchers have been granted $2.4 million to continue their studies into deadly oesophageal cancer, described as Australia's "fastest growing cancer". Epidemiologist David Whiteman, of the Queensland Institute of Medical Research, said oesophageal cancer rates had skyrocketed six-fold in the past two decades. Read more here.
